“Our friends and visitors are always drawn as if by a magnet to the lovely bay windows that capture the sea views. Our favourite room is the sitting room where we can happily sit for hours on end watching the ships and on the finest days, the French coast is clearly visible on the distant horizon. We find the vast amounts of sky and water immensely calming and provide us a constantly changing scene throughout the day. We see some amazing sun rises and the views are just as breathtaking at night, a full moon reflecting on a calm sea is a spectacular sight as are the twinkling lights of the passing ships and the lights along the French coast.
There is so much we like about our house besides the wonderful views. We are far enough out of town and away from the pier to avoid most holiday makers. Consequently the beach, which is literally twenty yards across the road, becomes a very usable amenity.
There is no finer feeling than being able to breakfast on the beach, sometimes in the company of friendly neighbours. We all tend to use the beach as if it were our own perfect setting for summertime picnics and barbecues. Another of the aspects we like most about living here is the convenience of the location, it is so nice not to have to use a car when we pop into town for a meal or shopping. It only takes five minutes to walk into Deal whether we stroll along the sea front or cut through the pretty back streets of the conservation area."
