We spent two years renovating the property, fitted a new kitchen and additional bathrooms, and also added an upstairs bedroom with en-suite that my teenage daughter uses. That room would suit an au pair or a dependent relative, as well as teenagers who wish to have more independence,” says Gitte. “The kitchen is now a beautiful modern space with Miele appliances." The current owners used inspiration from their travels when designing the interiors of Mountwood. Having spent time in Asia and Scandinavia amongst other places, Gitte and James used design inspiration from each region to create a fusion of styles that everyone could enjoy. After renovating the property, the current owners enjoyed years of happy memories at Mountwood, often hosting parties. “The downstairs reception rooms are south facing and the layout is ideal for entertaining. The lounge, for example, has large double doors leading into the dining area with both rooms accessing the full length terrace.
