Property description

Detached country home with three bedrooms and stunning views. THE PROPERTY IS TIED TO AGRICULTURAL WORKERS OR THOSE WITH AN ESTABLISHED AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS. Country views set in 7 acres.Nestled deep in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, just a stone’s throw from the historic market town of Corsham, is Ridgefield Farm. Built in 2000, this lovely home is enveloped by around eight acres of wonderfully verdant land, and it is a property that has been the much loved home of the current owners. “The views here are absolutely stunning,” says Paul, “you can literally see for miles, and it’s an incredibly peaceful place to live. The house is tucked away, so much so that many people don’t even know it’s here. It’s a very idyllic setting and that is something that really appealed to me the first time I came to look at the property.”The heart of the home is said to be the large kitchen and dining area. It has a traditional farmhouse feel and space enough for family meals or entertaining with friends, something that the current owner has enjoyed over the years. Patio doors not only provide the most wonderful vista of the fields beyond, but also on a warm summer’s day enable everyday life to spill out onto the patio beyond. “This has been a superb house for entertaining,” says Paul, “we’ve had a great many BBQs on the patio, and wonderful pic-nics in the fields. We also have five large polytunnels that are a little way from the house, which have been used for growing mushrooms, rearing turkeys and geese and used extensively for many different agricultural purposes.”“I’ve done an awful lot of work to the grounds since buying the property,” continues Paul. “I dug out a huge lake and around it planted five to six hundred trees to form a wood. It’s another really nice place to sit out during the summer and just soak in the lovely surroundings, and it also will provide all the fuel I need to keep the fire in the living room going during the winter months.”Ridgefield Farm is surrounded by a plethora of nearby towns and villages, each of which offers a good selection of shops and amenities. “Corsham is where I tend to do the majority of my shopping,” says Paul, “as it’s only a couple of minutes away by car. It also has a really great selection of restaurants and pubs, one of which is run by Marco Pierre White.” This is a location that is not only very beautiful but also extremely convenient; a combination that is often very hard to find.“Ridgefield Farm has been a wonderful place to live,” concludes Paul. “It’s truly idyllic and I shall be very sad to leave.”
