Property description
Walking or driving up this road, it is clear to see it is one of only a few roads in East Grinstead that boast character properties.
Throw in to the mix that it is incredibly close to the town centre and mainline station and you are on to a winner.
The inside of the house matches the exterior for character: the high ceilings and coving for a start. It's easy to see why the current owners were so eager to buy it in the first place.
A comforting lounge with large bay window allows the afternoon and evening sun to flood in. The gas fire has been capped, but could easily be un-capped, or changed to an open fire or maybe even have a wood burner.
The dining area can house the larger of dining tables and as it opens in to the kitchen area this is a great entertaining space: meaning you won't get the sense of feeling locked away like Cinderella if your hosting friends or relatives alike!
The large kitchen is a breath of fresh air in comparison to many in houses of this ilk.
Bedroom one shares the bay with the lounge and this gives a feeling of even more space. The second is also a double, though the third is more than adequate too. The modern bathroom completes the billing.
East Court, Chequer Mead and the leisure centre can all be reached without the need to cross more than one road. The two main streets in the town centre are within an incredibly easy reach and the mainline station is not far beyond. This really is central living.
What the Owner says:
Like many of the people we have come to know in East Grinstead we moved here from the outskirts of London. We liked the character, the location, the high ceilings and the feature fireplace.
The fact that it is a short stroll from the train station and the town centre are also ideal.
Since moving in we have installed a brand new boiler (January 2013) and decorated throughout. The remainder of the house was ready to move into.
Whilst we are looking to stay in East Grinstead we will miss the convenience of living here. It should also be noted that a permit for the road here entitles you to park anywhere within central town (ZONE A) and near the station all day which has proved incredibly useful.
