The house is located close to the historic Epping Forest, of which Longacre was carved out of in the 1930's. A few hundred years ago King Henry V would have been charging about on his horse, hunting game
maybe just on this very spot.
The transport links are superb, seconds away is Wood St British Rail with fast links in to Liverpool Street Station via Hackney Downs, or one stop on and you can change at Walthamstow Central where you have the Victoria line tube. Up the road, approximately 15 minutes walk is Snaresbrook tube, on the Central Line, amazing quick links into the city. The M11, M25, A12, A13 and A406 are all easily accessible - you can be at Stansted Airport in approximately 35 minutes. The schools in the locality are very good, primary, secondary and colleges.
Not too far away is a good choice of areas to visit to shop , eat or wine and dine:-
"Walthamstow Village" a good selection of bars, boutiques and places to eat.
"Highams Park" a nice little village, lots of little boutique shops, places to eat and a large supermarket, on the Liverpool street line as well.
" Wanstead High Street" is the same as the village, just a lot bigger, you also have Snaresbrook and Wanstead tube stations there, both on the central line.

This was the first and only house we looked at in Upper Walthamstow and fell in love with it instantly. We love the quiet 'no through road' location and the fact it's so close to Wood Street station and the high street with its independent shops and cafes as well as the indoor market. Wood Street is an up and coming area and has a lovely community feel about it, with the local community group hosting several events a year in the plaza. Walthamstow Village is within walking distance, as is Epping Forest for those wishing to do more strenuous exercise (perfect for dog walkers!). We're only leaving it as we are moving abroad and will be very sorry to leave the house and the area behind us.
