Property description

The home retains much of the character from its origin that was based around the farmhouse and surrounded by fields back in the 18th century. The property still encompasses 0.58 acres, approached by a long private driveway, ample parking, garden areas and a detached stone garage and with relevant planning permission could benefit from conversion too.

The property has undergone an extension in the 1980s and it contributes well within the family house and the flexible accommodation on offer. A special feature in the home are the octagonal rooms, one of which is used as a dining room, the other a bedroom.

Set back from the road, once you arrive, you feel secluded with tree-lined boundaries, yet with neighbours not far away you can still gain that sense of community.

The home incorporates a lovely separate lounge, four bedrooms, depending on the needs required. A favourite room is the conservatory, a great area to relax in whatever the time of day. It is also a great entertaining area when used with the adjoining breakfast room, with the stunning kitchen just adjacent to that. The downstairs includes a superb utility room also.

Overall, this home offers a superb lifestyle, set within the popular town of Seaview, a walk into the town is possible and with the glorious shoreline beyond is an attractive proposition for sea lovers, walkers or a gentle stroll with the family.

What the Owner says:

We bought this home just over 10 years ago having first been captivated by it two years earlier when unfortunately a purchase was not available to us, however, once we decided that our move to Seaview could be postponed no longer, our first action was to re-visit the property to see if our love at first sight would be rekindled and could be turned into a lasting relationship. Memories of the nervous anticipation that we felt on that return visit still linger with us each time we drive upto the home and through our gate. We were not disappointed - there had been further improvements to the property - and in due course we became the proud owners of what has been a wonderful home for our family and a superb location to welcome friends.

Asked what really attracted us to the property, it was the tranquillity of the location of the house and grounds and the careful way in which so many features of the property – some dating back 200 years – have been preserved and married in with the needs and wishes of modern living, resulting in pleasant surprises in every room.

We very much embraced this approach and enjoyed making many further improvements to the property in this vein during our period of ownership. We feel that the house responded happily to the changes and is no way offended to now be described as “quirky”.

We will be sad to leave the home. We have not told the house yet!
