Property description

There is so much to offer in this beautiful and unique Grade II listed period home located in a semi-rural setting on the boundaries of a popular south of the Island Village, with probably some of the Island’s most attractive coastline only a short drive away.

It is not just the substantial six bedroom period home we are offering here, there is neighbouring beautiful rolling countryside and also an abundance of further offerings within this wonderful package. This includes an additional detached two bedroom cottage, ideal either as a holiday let, permanent let, annex for the extended family or simply guest accommodation. Then you have the large garage, with a large store above, the indoor swimming pool, which is housed within the delightful stone built outbuilding, a vegetable garden, a greenhouse and the brick built mower garage.

The original part of the main home dates back to the 1600s and offers an abundance of space, charm and character. Amongst the accommodation of the main home you have six bedrooms, two bathrooms, two cloakrooms, a fantastic farmhouse-style kitchen, the formal living room with its unusual stone fireplace and so much more. Even though it is spoilt for space, this beautiful home offers a great deal of cosy charm and warmth and could delight the same family for decades to come.

Opportunities such as this do not present themselves on very many occasions. You can see it offers beyond just the beautiful singular house and can accommodate an array of needs, from the luxury to have horses, the possibility of holiday home accommodation and creating an income, a place to live and work, the list goes on. To complete this excellent package, you have the benefit of having it located in a beautiful countryside spot, with village life and community nearby on a picturesque Island with its renowned climate and attractive coastline. The quote mentioned so many times about living on this Island is the quality of life it offers you and this beautiful home is an excellent illustration of that and surely needs to be explored.

Relating to the land, (which is optional), if some of the currently associated acreage is required the owners are more than happy to offer them for sale by separate negotiate.

What the Owner says:

For the last 16 years this property has been a place that our children and grandchildren call “home”. It has also been a regular holiday destination for many of our friends and everyone enjoys the peace and the flexible space that the home provides. We can all get together in the large kitchen and living room and equally find somewhere to be alone.

The garden areas have provided the opportunity “to grow our own” and we have developed a soft fruit area, vegetable garden, herb garden and orchard, which with the help of a greenhouse, produces much that we need. We have even started keeping bees!

Previous owners have had their horses stabled here and enjoyed riding on the surrounding downs and using the two paddocks.

We enjoy being involved in Niton village which is only one mile down the road and has a well established community life and good Primary School and close by the hidden gem of Castle Haven beach. There are also great walks all around us.

It is now time for us to move somewhere a bit smaller but we will be staying in this beautiful part of the Island.
