Property description
Set within this poplar location close to amenities, a semi-detached period home comprising four bedrooms, three en suite, two reception rooms, kitchen/breakfast room and utility leading to large decked area overlooking the garden. Offered chain free. This road of majestic, stunning, homes was established in the late 1800s. Constructed in the beautiful honey coloured material that is synonymous with this area, they are visibly attractive but also a delight to live in. This house has been the much loved family home of Judith and David for over twenty five years who, have never once, in all the time they have lived here, experienced any desire to move.It has been the perfect family home for us. There is an outstanding choice of schools close by, together with an abundance of local services, which includes splendid sport and leisure facilities. We have a frequent bus service for quick journeys into the city centre, with the local railway station being just ten minutes walk away for easy commute to Bristol and beyond. This facility was most convenient as our children became more independent. The local countryside is amazing, and the region is well placed for convenient visits to all parts of the country. Bath city centre is a delight. Its architecture is renowned and the city is host to many art and literary festivals throughout the year.Sadly, during the 1960s, the house had been stripped of all of its Victorian character, but we still adored the house and its location. Our main aim was to give back the house its character and elegance whilst, at the same time, to create a home which was a joy to live in, and also one in which our children could have their own space for individual hobbies and pastimes. Our Favourite room: Our double aspect and versatile living/dining room has been ideal for us all, whether it be day to day family life, or large gatherings of friends and family. As the dining area opens out onto our patio, it gives extra flexibility to the room. Our Individual favourite rooms: We created an extra room in the attic space, with its own facilities. David utilised this room as an office, or as his hideaway for several years but, latterly, it has provided an extra bedroom and is perfect when we have guests to stay.Judith has appreciated the light, airy and spacious kitchen for ease of cooking and storage.Favourite aspect of the grounds or surrounding area: We are very proud of our neat, compact and sheltered garden. We have a large area of decking on which we enjoy relaxation, or eating al fresco with friends and family. During the summer months, our rockery is an absolute delight. What theyll miss most/why they are moving: Our children have now flown the nest and, reluctantly, we feel that the house is much too large for us. It has been an amazingly happy family home and we cannot emphasise enough how lovely it has been to share for cosy family gatherings or friendly and relaxed dinner parties.David and Judith
