Property description
Good, solid and classic three bedroom homes will never go out of style. This one sits on Howbury Road, in the middle of what is affectionately known as 'Nunhead Village'. It's a mid-terrace and has a traditional layout which includes a double reception, loo and eat-in kitchen on the ground floor while upstairs you'll find three bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Howbury Road runs south from Evelina Road, making it only a four minute stroll home from the station. Find this house on the east side of the street. Stepping in from the street, you are greeted by a neat front garden and further in, an entrance hall with space for coats and shoes. To your left are two reception rooms, opened up in the centre to create a long and spacious living area. The walls are a sunny yellow shade and wooden floors run underfoot. Front facing windows and rear French doors ensure maximum light. Book lovers will be impressed by the built-in shelving too! Back out into the hall and pass storage space and a guest loo under the stairs before arriving at the eat-in kitchen. Country style units run along one side of the room and there is a lovely little window seat with cupboard space built into a side aspect bay window. The floors have a very rustic feel with aged boards and the walls are a friendly white. There’s space at the far end for family dining and a set of bi-fold doors leads onto the private 30ft garden.
A jaunt upstairs will impress you with three double bedrooms. Each has a nice, peaceful vibe with a period fireplace and original cupboard in the master bedroom. The bathroom is well-equipped with both a shower and a tub for easy mornings.
Nunhead is in the midst of serious regeneration. Lovely independent shops seem to be opening every month (including the new Four Hundred Rabbits and the new Bambuni wine and grocery that is imminent!) and the green itself is now home to a lovely, popular children's play area. You're within an easy trot of East Dulwich and the marvellous Lordship Lane. Local green spaces include Peckham Rye park and at a stone's throw, gothic Nunhead Cemetery (often used as a location for filming). One of London's 'Magnificent Seven' Victorian cemeteries, it is widely considered a hidden gem offering atmospheric strolls and great views over London. For transport, Nunhead station is a mere two minute walk and provides regular trains to Victoria (15 minutes), Blackfriars (15 minutes) and St Pancras (30 minutes). The East London line at Brockley is a short stroll, as are direct trains to London Bridge from Queen's Road Peckham.
