Property description

A Contemporary Barn Conversion in a Rural Setting Between Castlemorton and Welland, within the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Entrance Hall – Open Plan Kitchen / Dining Room Sitting Room – Master Bedroom; with En-Suite - Second Double Bedroom – Bath / Shower Room Study / Galleried Third Bedroom / Study to the First Floor - Large Single Garage – Parking – Lawned Garden

This stunning barn, finished in 2014, has been converted to exacting standards to provide a superb, contemporary and highly energy-efficient family home in idyllic surroundings. The main accommodation is on the ground floor, providing the convenience of bungalow living whilst retaining all the character of the former milking parlor.

Set within the highly sought-after and peaceful surroundings between Castlemorton and Welland, Ridgemore provides an idyllic rural setting with easy access to amenities in nearby towns.

Welland has a village store and Castlemorton and Welland each have a superb primary school; there is an excellent choice of state and independent schools in Great Malvern, just six miles away. Great Malvern also has rail links to London, Paddington and to Birmingham, New Street.
Worcester is around 13 miles away and Cheltenham and Gloucester are less than 20 miles, making this an easy commute to many towns in the area.

Entrance Hall – A spacious, light room with marble-effect tiled floor; excellent storage within the white units and also space and plumbing for white goods. Staircase to the first floor study/bedroom and under-stairs storage.

Kitchen/Dining Room – A superb, contemporary room with a range of clean, white units, incorporating a large kitchen island, all off-set with dramatic black and white tiles, black work-surfaces and plinth lights. The kitchen has brand new electric double oven, electric hob with extractor hood and a dish-washer; there is ample space for a fridge-freezer. The engineered oak floor complements the exposed beams. A part-glazed door leads out to the enclosed, rear patio and a further oak door leads into the sitting room.

Sitting Room – A well-proportioned room with oak-framed window to the rear and large, oak-framed French windows out to the terrace. As in the kitchen, the engineered oak floor is warmed by the under-floor heating system.

Master bedroom
– with engineered oak floor, large windows providing dual aspect views, walk-in wardrobe and a contemporary en-suite shower room.

En-Suite Shower Room
– with large walk-in shower, white basin on a vanity unit, wc and oak shelves providing storage space. There is a wall-mounted mirror and an obscure-glazed window to the rear.

Bedroom 2 – with engineered oak floor, large walk-in wardrobe, views across the garden and up to the Malvern Hills from the French windows.

Main Bath/Shower Room – with contemporary monochrome colour scheme. The black floor and wall tiles provide a dramatic contrast with the stark white metal bath, the basin and wc. Behind the bath is a large wet-room area with ‘drencher’ shower head and body jets. Towels will be kept warm and dry on the large heated towel radiator.

Galleried Bedroom / Study – this superb first floor space can be used as an occasional bedroom or study. It has an unusual shape, wrapping around the staircase and looking over the kitchen/dining room. The main window up here looks out over surrounding countryside making this an inspiring work-space. Storage is provided in the under-eaves cupboards.

Garage / Workshop – a generously-sized single garage with concrete floor and a large ‘up and over’ door. There is also a side door, a window to the garden and light and power, enabling this to be used as a workshop.

Outside - A five bar gate opens from the lane into the large gravelled turning and parking area, where a large single garage provides secure parking. There are three steps up to a large, mainly level lawn which is dotted with young, recently planted native trees. The boundaries are marked with wooden fences and further recently planted hedging plants and shrubs which will mature to provide screening to the adjacent farmland and outbuildings. However, selective pruning will maintain the views to the top of the Malvern Hills!

This is a very attractive and low-maintenance garden. The main terrace, paved with black slate, provides a very striking seating area at the front of Ridgemore. There is a smaller, enclosed rear courtyard providing a further paved seating area.
