Property description
WOW… what a lovely setting. Out on your own in the middle of the countryside this property occupies an elevated position surrounded by green fields and trees. The property is superbly positioned and has gardens to 3 sides to enjoy, this can surely be that country retreat you have always dreamed of.
Although “cottagey” in feel this 1930’s detached residence possesses the character you would associate with a cottage, however do not be fooled into believing the rooms to be small as the property boasts well-proportioned accommodation throughout. There are in fact so many windows to this property giving a bright and airy feel. From every window you look out of all you can see is greenery or open space. Once you explore the grounds you will not be disappointed with the gardens which are very private and secluded and with the addition of the driveway leading to the double garage also providing off road parking your entire ‘wish for’ boxes will surely be ticked.
The location is superb, tucked away as it is off a tree lined country lane life here should consist of lots of peace and quiet as long as you don’t count the bird song. From this location there are good access routes to main transport links and closer to home this rural position is surely a dog owners dream!
What the Owner says:
We came to the Ashdown Forest from London to be near my husband's mother when he retired. We did not regret it because we were right on the Forest and I was able to take up riding, hacking and learn the art of dressage. Later I acquired a dog and explored much of the Forest from the many different car parks and found the Christopher Robin memorials.
It has proved an excellent position and since we are ten minutes from four supermarkets either North to Crowborough or South to Uckfield and the coast is only a 30 minute drive away.
The house, on a small hill facing south gets the sun all day and being insulated is cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
We have been very happy here but I now need a smaller bungalow nearer to my relatives.
