To the left is a seating area with long trellis covered with a range of climbers as well as a grassed area which contains snowdrops and a range of daffodils which flower from January to late May. To the right, the main lawn is framed with well-stocked, herbaceous perennial beds. The garage and large parking area to the west are hidden by a long, hornbeam hedge and fabulous box hedge which dates back 300-400 years. There is also a very old Wisteria and various arches and seats, which are covered with climbing roses, clematis & jasmine. The vegetable gardens offer a delicious asparagus bed, an autumn fruiting raspberry bed, a strawberry bed, Conference and Louise de Bonne wall-trained pear trees, wall-trained fig tree, two apples trees and strongly growing rhubarb plants. The back brick wall, built-up vegetable beds and 60 ft well are made from bricks which were bought when an old mill in the Midlands was demolished. In addition there is a secluded pond area.The Annex also benefits from a courtyard garden which, although accessible from the main gardens, offers a private patio and seating area with various planting and flowers.
