Potter Heigham is one of the major boating centres in the Norfolk Broads, lying on the banks of the River Thurne with a famous medieval bridge giving access to the upper Thurne leading onto Martham, Hickling Broad and Horsey Mere. The village further benefits from the locally renowned Lathams store, two public houses, fish and chip shop, church and Post Office.
