“We have lived in this wonderful house for the past 28 years but feel that now our children have grown up and flown the nest, it is time to make a move. It has been a wonderful place to bring up our family and they are very sad we have decided to go and live by the sea but we are looking forward to the change, although we know we shall miss the life we have enjoyed here.
For anyone looking for peace and quiet there is unlikely to be anywhere that provides such tranquillity. We moved here from London and a somewhat hectic lifestyle and have always appreciated the calming atmosphere that surrounds our home. Over the years we have refurbished the place and added an extension as well as upgrading The Bothy and the studio.
Although we live in the middle of the country we have a friendly community and a charming village with two pubs, a church, a village hall and a couple of nurseries which we frequent as we are very keen gardeners. We love the nearby village of Wingham with its beautiful architecture and array of unusual shops and pubs. There is a post office and newsagents which deliver our daily newspapers as well as a surgery, dental practice, a number of ‘B & Bs’ and a good primary school.
There is also the Wingham Wildlife Park that is very popular with families for a day out. The delightful Cinque Port of Sandwich is about six miles away and is probably our favourite local town as it has some lovely individual shops and restaurants and good schools.
