Property description
As you approach this period family home, you cannot fail to notice the abundance of original features still in place. Right from the original glass and iron porch to the ceiling covings, this property exudes character.
The moment you step inside this home you will immediately notice the original Edwardian wooden floorboards in the hallway and dining room. Heading up the stairs there is a great stained glass window on the half landing which lets a variety of light stream into the home. Upstairs there will be no arguing over who gets the biggest bedroom as they are all a generous size, not only that but two of the bedrooms have original working fireplaces.
Come down the back stairs into the kitchen and you will be pleasantly surprised as to what is on offer. You have an old fashioned double butler sink and the fitted appliances. Keep an eye on the kids doing their homework in the dining area whilst you are cooking dinner. There are two fantastic family rooms, one is a dining room with a lovely log burner and the second is the large lounge with a great log burner and a lovely homely feel where everyone can sit and relax of an evening.
For the men that like a man cave, you have a little workshop off the rear of the property that then leads to the utility and store room. Let the kids play in the garden knowing that they will be safe with a walled garden to finish this home off nicely.
What the Owner says:
We have lived here in our lovely home in Sandown for 3 1/2 years. We are moving abroad and with heavy hearts will have to sell this property. It has been a very happy time here, in the summer the house is always full of friends and family.
Sandown is a very community spirited place where we know our neighbours and shop keepers chat while they serve you. Everything is so close to hand, we can walk to the park or for a coffee by the beach within minutes, we really will miss that!
Most of all our children have loved living here. We will be sad to leave Sandown and the Island.
