Property description

This is a lovely bright and welcoming cottage, ideal for those who want a touch of character but with the trappings of modern living. An ideal place to rest in front of the open fire, alternatively come summer time the garden is a lovely sun trap to enjoy afternoon tea and alfresco dining.

Not forgetting that despite being a period home you have the bonus of a well thought out and landscaped garden with your own drive and garage – a rare find with a cottage.

Upstairs after you have enjoyed entertaining and dining with friends in the most delightful room, you can retire to one of the double bedrooms. What is so nice is the light floods in and bounces around the interior it is very refreshing.

The ceilings aren’t low and oppressive so that also adds to the feel of space. The living room has doors which open up the downstairs receptions so it can be as cosy or as open plan as you like, in fact very versatile for various amounts of guests or occasions. If you want to feel safe and homely then this cottage should definitely be on your short list.

The kitchen has a breakfast bar which is constantly used and very convenient and the stable door to the garden lets the breeze flow in without the wildlife. The view to the back over the field is very pleasant from the kitchen. The cottage has sash windows and the front facade has been grade 11 listed.

What the Owner says:

I only viewed two cottages - making this my home was an easy decision. It had Planning permission to put in a drive and garage and that’s exactly what I did. Its been the nicest home and the neighbours are very friendly and helpful. It's a sanctuary and quite a special place to come home to. It is a great location; you can get to Tunbridge Wells, or Tonbridge easily by bus. I grew up in Tunbridge Wells so I can tell you there are no hidden surprises, the locals are friendly, the historical society meet up, along with a bowls club, tennis and cricket locally. The local shop is a great place to stroll to and pick up a paper and the various Public Houses are nice places to show off the local cuisine to guests. I now want to move to a local town, that's the reason for the sale.
