PLANNING
Initial planning was given in 2006 by Caradon District Council. These plans were then amended and passed at the end of 2013 by Cornwall Council. The propose plans are for a four bedroom detached house with a driveway and garage. The planning reference is PA13/10143.Copies of the plans may be inspected at the Agents office in Liskeard during normal working hours or alternatively can be viewed via Cornwall County Council planning website.
The building plot is situated near the top of Shutta Hill in East Looe which is a no through road although a footpath continues on up to the Barbican area where there is a public house, small selection of shops and the main secondary school. The property will have views towards West Looe through the trees which give it a degree of privacy. Looe itself is still a bustling fishing port with its own fish market and is becoming well known for its growing reputation for its selection of restaurants using local fresh fish and produce. It still attracts tourists from all around the UK and further afield with its sandy beach and numerous water based activities such as diving, fishing, sailing and boating. The picturesque harbour splits the town in two with various shops, public houses and eateries on both sides and the primary and secondary school are on the eastern side. The town also has its own bowling club and tennis court. The town is surrounded by beautiful scenery with a pretty railway line following the river bank to the market town of Liskeard (approximately 8 miles away by road) which connects to the mainline travelling to Paddington, London and also meets up with the A38 to Plymouth which is the main centre for the area and has a multiplex cinema, theatre and ferry connections to the Continent. The nearest airports are Newquay and Exeter. For those with a sporting inclination Looe has its own golf course at Bindown and the Internationally known St. Mellion course is also nearby.
