Property description
Believed by the current owners to have been built in 1902 and operating as the Gosport Passenger Ferry in approximately 2000, the boat was converted to its current guise as a 3 bedroom house boat.
Now on a permanent mooring at the Hoo Marina Port St Werburgh, it is amongst many other house boats of all different shapes and sizes.
The owners have particularly enjoyed the close knit community and some of the fantastic experiences that cannot be had by living on land. Imagine waking up in the morning and seeing swans sailing gently past your bedroom window. As you walk out onto your deck on a beautiful sunny morning, the light sparkling off the waters, you can relax in the peace and quiet with maybe just the sound of water lapping against your boat.
At low tide take a walk along to Upnor and follow the Saxon Way, where at the end maybe you can grab some lunch or a drink at one of the excellent pubs in the village.
Of course you are not too far away from all the essentials you would need in the village, supermarkets, bank, post office and schools are all just a mile or so away.
So if you are looking for a complete change in lifestyle and maybe one that could be easier on your pocket, then take a trip down to have a look at the life that could be yours here.
What the Owner says:
When we first came down here to view the house boat and when we walked through the front door we just fell in love with it and had to have it!
We have thoroughly enjoyed living here with a very friendly community where you can spend all day hopping from one boat to another, depending on who is having a BBQ or just a coffee and a chat.
We have all the services we need here with electric, telephone and an oil tanker keeps us topped up for our oill fired boiler. We do have a wood burning stove in the lounge which is fantastic to have on certainly throughout the winter and keeps us lovely and warm.
