Property description

A stylishly upgraded three bedroom cottage in a peaceful setting at the heart of the historic village of Shoreham.
The cottage has been modernised and upgraded throughout, yet designed to retain many of the original features of the period, including fireplaces and exposed beams, and some doors. On the ground floor the cottage has a cosy sitting room with a small inglenook fireplace housing a log burner with access through a small lobby to a delightful beamed dining room with a brick fireplace housing an original range cooker. The dining room is open plan to a well fitted kitchen with access to the rear garden. The stylish designed bathroom has fitted units and a separate shower cubicle, and to the rear, a useful utility area. On the first floor there is a bi-directional landing with two double bedrooms, the rear bedroom has access to a small third/nursery bedroom. An important feature is the excellent potential to create a further bedroom in the loft area, subject to planning. The rear garden backs onto open countryside with views up to the Shoreham Cross.
A delightful character cottage which has to be viewed internally for all aspects to be appreciated.

NB. THE COTTAGE OFFERS POTENTIAL TO EXTEND, SUBJECT TO PLANNING.

Situation
The village of Shoreham sits beside the river Darent as it winds through the North Downs, and is situated six miles north of Sevenoaks. Reputed to be the most bombed village in Britain, the famous great white cross cut in the chalk hillside is a monument to commemorate the dead of the First World War. Shoreham railway station has trains to Blackfriars and St Pancras with easy connection to Victoria. Darenth Valley golf course is located on the edge of the village. The area has been featured in the paintings of the artist Samuel Palmer, one of the famous residents of Shoreham.
