Property description
Sat in the kitchen/dining room, taking in the stunning scenery, whilst the coffee brews in the percolator, it's hard not to be wowed by what you see.
The leafy drive to this historic setting sets the tone. Pulling up on the drive seals it. A large log store and workshop allows a feeling of the 'hunter-gatherer'. Once inside the property you'll be surprised by the amount of extra space balanced neatly with plenty of character features.
A former sitting room now used as a study, this would easily be a great space as a playroom if needed. An open fire reminds you of what was here before. Step through in to the hub of the home. A large 19ft kitchen/dining room will surely entertain and the view even makes the Aga play second fiddle.
An extension gives a downstairs bathroom and beyond which is a large lounge with dual aspect windows allowing light to flood in. A wood burner is perfect to warm up in front of after a country stroll or maybe just an hour chopping logs.
Two double bedrooms and a large single, along with a bathroom complete the upstairs. All bedrooms have a splendid view out be it front or rear aspect.
The rear garden looks out on to fields and has been the pride and joy of the vendors for many years now. By all accounts it comes in to it's own in the Spring. We wouldn't advise waiting until then to view though!
What the Owner says:
We have lived in the Hamlet of Hammerwood for 50 years. Having commuted for much of this period I have experienced the change to a more efficient service. The added advantage of three train stations nearby (Dormansland, Cowden & East Grinstead) all make London reachable within 50 minutes.
We'll miss the community feel here. Neighbours are wonderful to new arrivals. The view will be hard to match. Horses chew lazily in the fields behind and the spring makes the outlook wonderful.
The years proceed and now is the right time to move on. Whoever comes will be as blessed.
