Middletown sits on the very edge of the English/Welsh border on A458. The property is situated in a very picturesque location offering walkers a perfect opportunity to explore the surrounding hills.
Welshpool, which nestles in the upper reaches of the picturesque Severn Valley near the border between England and Wales, is just a 10 minute drive away from this quiet neighbourhood. The bustling Market Town is surrounded by the rolling hills of Montgomeryshire and the glorious unspoilt countryside in Mid Wales.
Historic Shrewsbury is under a twenty minute drive away. Some people may be surprised to learn that the county town has more than 600 listed buildings in the town centre. Indeed there are over 2,000 in the borough. It is arguably one of the most well preserved medieval towns in the county. Two buildings in particular stand out, firstly Shrewsbury Castle - founded in 1047 by Roger de Montgomery and Shrewsbury Abbey which sits just outside of the town centre over the English Bridge. The town centre has enough attractions, shops, cafes and restaurants to keep the visitor absorbed for hours. As you wander around the passages and crooked streets, notice the names like Butcher Row, Milk Street, Fish Street, Grope Lane. All indications of what was originally sold in these streets. Market square dates back to 1190, nowadays it is also the occasional site of street entertainment and events. Please note that these details are for general guidance only.
