Property description
This splendid two bedroom contemporary dwelling is set back off of the road in a wonderfully peaceful, gated courtyard. Spread over two bright and spacious floors you'll find it's well laid out, neutrally decorated and has a well-stocked, private patio garden. All this peace so close to the seemingly endless social attractions of Brixton and Clapham? Transport is easy, parks are nearby and plentiful and your social life won't know what’s hit it. We're sure this one won't stick around!
The gated entrance sits politely between two period buildings. Once inside the shared courtyard you find plenty of greenery and a central pond with fish and lily pads - nice! Move around to the left side of the building to find the entrance, through which you reach the well-proportioned reception room. It has crisp white walls, wooden floors and two windows peering out over the courtyard. There's a slick wall mounted electric fire for the colder months. The kitchen runs off from here with modern tiling and cabinets. A five ring gas hob and oven takes care of dinner and there's plenty of dining space. You'll find the garden through glass pane doors and there's a handy guest w.c adjoining to the rear. Heading up to the first floor you'll find that both of the bedrooms are super bright. One has an en suite bathroom while the other enjoys a wet room. Stripped timber floors and white walls continue the timelessly tasteful theme.
You're within a stone's throw of Clapham, Brixton and the ever so lovely Abbeville Village. Transport links abound too - the 137 is just around the corner and will whisk you to Sloane Square and Knightsbridge. Clapham North tube is about 7 minutes’ walk for the Northern line or you've got the Victoria line in Brixton. It'll take you the first three years to sample all the cuisine along Clapham High Street (Carmen's tapas is our fave) and you can walk it off on Clapham Common. Clapham High Street will keep you busy whatever the weather. There are big Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores within walking distance too. Brixton's all abuzz with the newly developed Windrush Square offering a marvellous place to sit, chat and drink coffee. This is before we mention the ocean of funky bars, cafés and restaurants on offer (we love Fujiyama for some noodles and vino). Brixton Village covered market is awash with global cuisine, there's everything from Vietnamese to Columbian! The Ritzy cinema and Clapham Picture House will keep any audience happy with its thoughtful mix of art house and mainstream titles. All in all, a real winner!
