Property description
Set in the heart of the quintessential Kentish countryside is this gorgeous converted oast house. Having been lovingly refurbished by the current owners, this truly is a home that you need to see to appreciate.
For those looking for a combination of charming character, and open plan modern living, this is the perfect mix. The owners have changed the previous layout to create a far more harmonious arrangement, with the second bedroom now located in the loft space, with its own bathroom. The additional space has created a huge kitchen/dining space of the highest quality, perfect for entertaining the masses, or simply catching up on the day’s events over a cup of coffee. The master bedroom remains in the roundel, with its gorgeous beamed ceiling, whilst the bathroom downstairs has been increased in size to create a more luxurious feel.
The long barn, located in the garden, has 2 heated bedrooms (one of which is very large) and a shower room. The current owners had also planned to add a sun room to the main oast house (planning not required) and a linkage to the long barn, giving a new owner unlimited options.
In the warmer months, you can sip a glass of bubbly and enjoy the stillness surrounding you, and in the winter you can admire the snow covered trees and fields from the comfort and warmth of your home. Egerton village is only a short drive away, you could settle down for a hearty pub meal, or watch a game of cricket on the green .
What the Owner says:
When we first saw the oast, we immediately saw the potential to turn it into something really special. We spend all of our time in the kitchen, as it’s the room we are most pleased with, and is the perfect setting for every occasion. Every room has been totally transformed, and the hard work as certainly paid off. We’ve had family and friends to stay which is great; the only trouble is getting them leave! The long barn has proved invaluable, and acts as a perfect extension of the house when needed. The accommodation is so flexible, you can use it for anything, even an annexe! We’ve loved our time here and have some brilliant memories. We’ll miss the peace and quiet but personal commitments are taking us elsewhere.
