Property description
This two bedroom pad is within a finger's stretch from the heart of Poet's Corner and a minute’s amble from the park and world class lido. Dulwich Road borders the beautiful Brockwell Park and location wise, it ensures you're well placed for all of life’s delights. Spreading itself generously over the upper ground floor of a big Victorian semi-detached number, you'll find high ceilings, sturdy proportions and plenty of scope to put your own stamp on the place. Grab your paintbrush and get stuck in; there really isn't much to do apart from cosmetic improvements, so you can really enjoy a project like this. The decor is currently uncomplicated and neutral throughout with crisp white walls and rich mocha carpets.
These towering Victorian semis really catch your eye when you're passing by on the bus - and now you have the opportunity to own a slice of one! A pebbled front drive invites you up a flight of stairs to the main entrance. This flat can be found immediately as you enter the entrance hall. Inside, the inner hall has some lovely original wooden flooring and deep scarlet painted walls. A storage cupboard to your left makes a great home for knick-knacks and the hoover. The living area is to your right and is open plan and eye-widening, it stretches over five metres in width and has some incredibly high ceilings. Pair these with a tall front aspect bay window (with sashes) and you've got a marvellous living space. The kitchen is currently arranged neatly to one corner. The space does needs some TLC - but don't we all? Sitting behind are two bedrooms. The master continues to impress with almost floor-to-ceiling windows and built-in storage space. Bedroom two is a more conservative size and the bathroom is fully tiled with a white suite.
Where do we start gushing about the area? The much loved and coveted Poets Corner sits on the leafy fringes of Brockwell Park. Transport is taken care of with nearby Brixton Station (Victoria line and BR zone 2) - an easy 10 minute walk. Herne Hill station is a mere 5 minutes stroll in the opposite direction for more swift connections to Farringdon, Victoria and beyond. The ever growing list of eateries and cafés in Brixton Village are getting the attention of many - we love Franco Manca pizza. There are just too many bars to mention but if we had to pick some favourites: The Prince Regent, The Florence and The Commercial. Herne Hill has a Pizza Express, Tapas, Antiques and the Lido is a real treat! If you're brave you can take a dip and finish off with a well-deserved latte by the pool. The park is perfect for jogging, cycling and the Sunday papers.
