Property description

Newly refurbished detached slate roof period house with large lawned garden, beautifully presented and spacious 3 double bedroomed accommodation, set in one of the areas prettiest and most sought after Dartmoor edge villages just off the picturesque square – THE PHOTOS SAY IT ALL

This sizeable and very attractive newly refurbished detached slate roof period house is superbly located in the extremely sought after Devon village of Drewsteignton in a quiet “tucked away” position within walking distance of the picturesque village square, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The house is within walking distance of local beauty spot Fingle Bridge where long riverside walks can be enjoyed along the scenic river Teign. The village is centred around a pretty square which has a mix of period thatched cottages and slate roofed houses, an ancient church, general grocers store/post office, and a well-regarded thatched public house, the Drewe Arms. The spectacular Castle Drogo (National Trust) is located on the extreme outskirts of the village set above the Teign Gorge and was the last castle to be built in England. The city of Exeter is located about 13 miles to the east via the A30, and the town of Crediton about 10 miles to the north east. Drewsteignton also has a public car park, and an excellent community play area/open space ideal for children and families.

The house offers newly refurbished 3 double bedroomed accommodation presented in totally immaculate condition throughout, full of character features including 2 inglenook fireplaces (one having a bread oven), heavily beamed ceilings, exposed natural wood floors, ledge & brace doors, and deep window sills etc.  All fitted carpets are brand new, and the décor throughout is excellent.  Central heating is provided by efficient electric radiators each having individual thermostatic controls, and some windows are double glazed.

The property is set in unusually large gardens being ideal for children and/or keen gardeners, mainly lawned and having well established trees, stone walling, and fencing surrounding.  There is a pedestrian gate at the lower end of the garden which gives a very convenient shortcut via a footpath into the village car park.  To the side is off road parking, and there are smaller areas to the side and rear of the house ideal for refuse/recycling etc.

Cloisterhayes House would be perfect for someone seeking a quiet secluded village lifestyle, in one the areas loveliest villages, with the magnificent Dartmoor National Park right on the door step.

Whilst viewing this property we highly recommend a visit to Fingle Bridge, and the Drewe Arms!

DIRECTIONS Cloisterhayes House is tucked away and not obvious from the village lane!  If entering the Drewseteignton from Crediton/Exeter side (via Cheriton Bishop and Crockernwell), proceed up the hill towards the centre of the village, just before arriving in the square the parking space for the property will be seen on your left, at the end of a terrace of cottages that front the street.  It is probably easier to park in the square or in the village car park for viewing purposes, and take the short walk to the property.
