Kinlochewe Hotel was built in the mid-1800s although some of the out-buildings date from the 1650s. The main construction is of stone with a traditional slate roof with an imposing roadside frontage. Originally a coaching inn, you can still see evidence of the farriers workshop and stable area for the coaches and horses. The building is very substantial and attractive and has benefitted from recent upgrading and renovation offering an historic setting with modern living. Since 2006, when the present vendors took over the Hotel, a very seasonal business has become a much more year- round profitable operation. They have extensively upgraded the Hotel to what is now a comfortable 3 Star Visit Scotland operation. They offer a relaxed and friendly home from home style, and have also created a very popular bar serving home cooked high quality food using the wealth of local seafood and prime meats that abound in Wester Ross.
The Kinlochewe Hotel is situated in the centre of the village of Kinlochewe at the foot of Beinn Eighe, 50 miles from Inverness.Kinlochewe has an abundance of wildlife right on its doorstep, many specious are commonplace in the surrounding hills and glens. Many of the guests come to walk and climb the many Munros and Corbetts that are the main feature of the location, but don't forget the beautiful lochs, forests and rivers which provide a haven for visitors to the area.
