COPPLESTONE is a popular Mid Devon village adjoining the A377 Exeter /Barnstaple road about 4 miles west of Crediton. The Cathedral City ofExeter is about 12 miles to the south east with excellent communicationsincluding the M5 motorway, main line rail stations and its airport tothe east of the city. To the south west and the north east ofCopplestone are the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor, renowned fortheir spectacular scenery with excellent facilities for walking, ridingand fishing. The village has an old Inn, post office / general storesand a modern primary school. There is a bus service through the villageto Exeter via Crediton. The village also has a railway station withtrains every hour to both Barnstaple and Exeter. In the village standsan ancient granite cross which is mentioned in a Saxon charter of theyear 974. This cross is virtually in the centre of the County.

DIRECTIONS Upon entering Copplestone from Crediton (A377) proceed downinto the village, passing the post office on your right. Follow theone-way system around to the right and right again over the railwaybridge and back into the village. Chapel Cottage will be found on theleft just past the village stores and opposite the chapel.
