Property description
Built on the site of the Black Prince's Chantry one of the oldest residential areas in Canterbury - as you walk to the front door you get the immediate impression you are stepping back in time. Your visitors will be greeted by the gentle ringing of a period doorbell and the stunning character features continue throughout.
You will also be amazed by the space available and being arranged over three floors, it gives you the opportunity to arrange the home how you wish.
On the ground floor, there is a dining room where you could entertain your friends and family, however it also makes an ideal play room for children and you can keep a watchful eye through the hatch from the kitchen. Upstairs the current owners have decided to use the lounge on the first floor. When you pull back the curtains you will see why, as you get a beautiful view of the Cathedral. Although there are three bedrooms, the current owners only need two, leaving one for use as a study with fibre optic and telephone points. If this isn't enough, then the Courtyard to the rear provides you with off road parking - which is priceless given the location - with space for barbeques, tables and chairs and additional storage.
The hustle and bustle of City life is just a short stroll away with all the cultural delights available. However you will be stunned by how quiet this home is tucked away in the corner of King Street.
What the Owner says:
We always wanted to move out to Canterbury. Along with the culture and history, it is close to the sea for days out as well as having the high speed link to London for work. We looked over a few properties but nothing leapt out until we saw Black Prince. As soon as we walked in, we were blown away with the character features like the fireplaces and coving - but also the comfortable feel. We love the central location, rarely using the car now with everything so close - from great pubs and restaurants to high street shops. We often pop up the road for a coffee and freshly baked loaf from the local shops. Over the seven years, the biggest thing we have done is extended over the downstairs bathroom for an additional bedroom and installed a new bathroom.
