This two bedroom, two bathroom garden flat is a perfect example of mixing period charm with a contemporary edge. This beautiful home is situated at the quieter, top end of Cambridge road near St Ann's wells gardens. However you can still feel the buzz of its enviable central location. Western road with all its got to offer from caf culture to a cheese cave and everything in between lies at the bottom of the road and the beach is just a short stroll away.
As you step foot into this property through the communal hallway, the first thing that hits you is the light flooding in through the large bay window, coupled with the large floor to ceiling dimensions. This open plan living space gives you a real sense of a light and airy grandeur. The ceiling has retained its period cornice and ceiling rose, a perfect opportunity to hang that decadent chandelier. Underfoot the original wooden floors have been tastefully restored by the current owners. Another of many focal points is the beautiful working marble fire place with hand painted ornate tiles, perfect for those cosy nights in. The open plan contemporary kitchen area has ample cupboard space, unique white stone mix work tops and integrated appliances including a combination oven and main induction oven.Entering the larger of the two bedrooms, the period features continue. A large sash window overlooks the garden and trees giving it yet again a light and airy vibe. It has handy built in storage and to top it off an en-suite with shower. The internal hallway has more storage under the external stairs above. This leads onto the second smaller bedroom with window to the side of the property. There is an additional bathroom, a white suite with an overhead shower attachment.Accessed from an inner hallway and down a few steps the low maintenance good sized landscaped garden can be found. Decorative slate tiles have been laid, a splattering of small tress have been planted around its edge in its raised boarders and the larger ones at the back give the garden a natural canopy. In the near right corner a patio with seating area for dining has been built in. Perfect for all those summer BBQ s and alfresco dining.
We have loved living here and its only because we have baby number two on the way that we are making the move. We love the area its so central, a couple of streets away from the shops , cafs and the beach, yet the building is very quiet and feels more like a house than a flat. The garden is great its a real sun trap and the canopy of trees keeps it from being too overlooked.
