Property description
What I love about the flat (words by the seller)
This is a fantastic flat that would suit a first time buyer, small family or investor in equal measure. The flat is located on Caldecot Road and they were originally built as flats for hospital workers so while they retain a Victorian period charm, complete with high ceilings and coving, they also have their own front door and are incredibly spacious for two bedroom flats.
This flat comprises of two really good sized double bedrooms (great for flatmates!), a large reception room with bay window, a spacious eat-in kitchen and bathroom with large windows in all the rooms (and skylight in the roof of the landing) make it lovely light and airy space. The flat has also just been completely redecorated and recarpeted with a brand new bathroom installed, along with a new combi-boiler which combined with double glazing throughout makes the flat a really cozy space to be throughout the year.
Theres also plenty of storage space with a large loft space, along with plenty of cupboard space throughout the flat.
What I love about its location:
The flat is situated close to Kings College Hospital, set back from Denmark Hill and Coldharbour Lane with phenomenal transport links across London making this a fantastic spot for both those commuting into town for work or for getting about to visit friends.
Denmark Hill station is just a 5 minute walk away and not only gives mainline access to Blackfriars, Victoria and Kent but also gives quick access (less than 30 minutes!) to both the City via Shoreditch High Street as well as Canary Wharf on the newly opened Overground extension.
Travelling west via the same line brings you quickly to Clapham High Street, Wandsworth and Clapham Junction. The bus links are also second to none with buses to seemingly all parts of London on your doorstep, including quick access to the Northern Line at Oval or Elephant and Castle, the Bakerloo Line and the Victoria Line at Brixton.
What I love about the area:
Camberwell has a vibrant, unique feel to it, with a strong arts community with Camberwell Arts College playing a key role in the area. Camberwell Green itself is just 5 minutes walk away with a good range of shops, Saturday farmers market and some great bars and restaurants - check out Angels and Gypsies Tapas bar if you get the chance!
Closer to home is the newly re-opened and slightly renamed Sun of Camberwell, which serves great food and good beer and has a fantastic beer garden which is perfect for long summer evenings, less than a minutes walk away from the flat.
For those looking for a great night out or even just a trip to the cinema, Brixton is 5 minutes away by bus and Clapham High Street the same by the Overground. Meanwhile, for those looking for a more villagy feel for those lazy Saturdays Lordship Lane in East Dulwich is also just 5 minutes away on a bus. With the added benefits of the lovely Ruskin Park theres plenty of green space nearby.
Camberwell is an area often overlooked by many as part of South London with previously limited tube access, but it really is a hidden gem with a huge amount to offer and with the new Overground links Im sure its not going to stay hidden for long!
