Property description
Having won "Village of the year" many times, it's easy to see why people flock to Brockham in an attempt to purchase a piece of family living. From the award winning butchers to the famous fireworks, Brockham is certainly on the map. No wonder the current owners snapped up the chance to live here and have found it ideal for family life with a great community feel. Tucked away, in a lovely, private location, you can look forward to peace and quiet here. Park up on the drive and meander up the path where you can already begin to imagine the kids playing on the trampoline in the good size front garden. When you step inside, you will be blown away by every view from the back of the house as the garden backs onto fabulous open farmland. Whether it's cosy nights in front of the open fire in the lounge or entertaining in the separate dining room, the downstairs living space offers it all. The kitchen has scope to transform it with your own ideas but offers space for all you need. If you enjoy a well earned soak at the end of a long day then the spotless modern bathroom offers the perfect environment. The talking point for this house is undoubtedly the garden. With far reaching views, you can set up the barbecue and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine or two. Despite the village location, commuting into London is also easy from here with bus routes on the main road taking you to Reigate or Dorking. Betchworth station is also just over a mile away allowing you to still make that early morning journey to work.
What the Owner says:
We moved here in 2003 and for us, it was all about the privacy that the location gave us. The unmade track meant it was lovely and peaceful and we loved the village location and the walks that are on the doorstep. Since living here we have opened up both fire places, which are now fully functional, as well as exposing the original parquet and quarry tiles. We also restored the doors and replaced the bathroom with Duravit fittings, Hansgrohe taps and an Aqualisa shower.
There is lapsed planning permission under reference MO/2000/1406 if anyone wanted to extend the house. It has been an amazing place to bring up a family and the area is lovely and feels safe for them.
