Property description
Gladstone Road is a wonderful location for a family home. Some of the areas best schools are nearby as is the train station with its high speed 1 commuter link to London and other local and Kent Coast services.
It is within easy reach of the High Street, with its shops and services leading down to the town's beautiful seafront, harbour, sandy beaches, a fine range of restaurants, bars and other entertainment.
The house was built in the 1860s and has retained many of its original features inside and out. Downstairs there are three reception rooms, a kitchen/breakfast room with separate utility room and downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs there are four double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower and a family bathroom.
The sash bay windows fill the rooms with natural light and the Victorian tiles on the floor of the sitting room with its working period fireplace and double doors to the garden are fabulous. The west facing rear garden is well established and a great size for a period house in the centre of Broadstairs. Its natural layout and planting offers a choice of open and shaded seating areas, very welcome in Summer when it gets the sun almost all day.
Gladstone Road offers a good amount of free on street parking. The house also has a dropped kerb with off-street parking for a small car.
Please refer to the footnote regarding the services and appliances. What the Owner says:
This has been a very happy family home. There are good schools locally that cater for all ages from infant to sixth form. The children walked to school in minutes and the railway station is really close, within sprinting distance when necessary.
As they became more independent, the children were able to take advantage of being in the centre of things.
We have a lot of very happy memories of living in this house, but now the children have grown up, it is time for another family to enjoy all the benefits this house has to offer.
