Property description
Renowned architect Edgar Ranger excelled himself designing this gem of a property. Surrounded by a delightful and easy-to-manage garden, Whitewalls oozes the charm that became so popular during the Arts and Crafts era of the 1920s, from the Tudor shaped oak wood front door to the leaded light windows. Living here, you can enjoy the tranquil setting and sit on the raised patio, soaking up the sun all day or just watch the magnificent koi carp swimming in the pond. While in the winter, you can light the fire in the warm and friendly sitting room with its plethora of period features or sit in the sun room, enjoying the view across the garden.
The equally charming garage, built in the same style as the house, is just waiting for someone who wants to work from home to convert it into an office so they can enjoy their home environment and the peace and quiet, but without being interrupted.
It is an ideal family home with its four bedrooms leading off the very wide galleried landing and is also a great place for entertaining friends and family with its delightful dining room adjacent to the well fitted kitchen that includes an impressive range cooker.
With the seafront and town centre within walking distance, there are always plenty of activities for visitors with something to do and somewhere to go. Whether you have children wanting to build sandcastles on one of the nearby sandy beaches or you want to enjoy an evening out in one of the many delightful restaurants and pubs that abound in Broadstairs, there are a wide variety of activities for everyone to enjoy.
What the Owner says:
“From the moment we first saw the house we were thrilled with the warm and welcoming feel it engendered and there is nothing we enjoy more than pottering in the garden. We love the beautiful Edgar Ranger designed houses and have the original plans of this house that were actually signed by him. We have even bought a book about all his houses including Long Barn – the wonderful house he built for himself in Broadstairs.
We came down here from Bexley some four years ago and have found the area extremely friendly. All our family and friends thoroughly enjoy visiting us here on a regular basis and we will be very sorry to leave our lovely home but we now need to move to a bungalow. However, we will still be living in Broadstairs as we have come to love the area.
At the same time, with the station not far away, we can easily go back to our roots whenever we like or take a trip to London either for work or pleasure. On a daily basis virtually everything we need is on the doorstep. We can walk into the town centre with its range of individual shops as well as supermarkets and if we need anything more, the shopping centre at Westwood Cross provides everything you could want from the well known high street stores.”
