Property description
Built circa 1745, this four bedroom detached barn conversion has far reaching views and is set in just over four acres. Includes kitchen, sitting/dining room, conservatory, study, three bath/shower rooms, utility room, downstairs cloaks, double garage, stables, outbuildings, gardens and paddock.Foggam Barn has served its current owners well, as the perfect family home. I will take away many happy memories from here, says Denise, there is a wonderful family feel to the home. It is hard to put that feeling down to anything in particular, there is enough space for everyone to feel comfortable, however it still feels very cosy and warm. We have had many family gatherings here, especially at Christmas, continues Stephanie. " The space outside also lends itself for entertaining: weve had quad bike races, firework parties and many a birthday party." Its been a wonderful house for my son to grow up in, adds Denise. I remember him coming home with friends and Id wake up in the morning and there would be bodies everywhere and an empty fridge!" With just over four acres, Foggam Barns land is extremely versatile. You have parkland, the woodland and the paddock with 2 stables, you have all these different areas to take advantage of. Well miss picking fruit, stewing the apples, making jam or going to collect firewood from our wood for the log burning stove, and you have space for animals," says Denise.Foggam Barn, which benefits from very close proximity to Bath, sits at the bottom of a quiet drive in the village of Box. Box is an active village. Everyone there is so lovely and open. However, even though we are in this lively village, Foggam Barn feels very private. We are at the bottom of a long drive, so no one need come down here unless they were here to see us, says Stephanie. It is extremely peaceful, Denise agrees, we added a summer house in the paddock - we call it Nowhere- there is no TV, no phones allowed and the sun catches it most of the day. All you can hear are the birds. Thats where we would go to enjoy a glass of wine and the last of the sun.Foggam Barn, which was once used by the current owners as a lucrative 5 star B&B, has been the perfect entertaining space for Denise, Stephanie and their families. They hope to find another lively family to enjoy the home, the land and its surroundings.
