Property description
This property was originally two houses and has been used for many different businesses over the years. It was first a wool store, then a doctors surgery during WW2, after the war it became a garage and then a wool shop in 1965.
This is a handsome double fronted Grade II Listed property, with great sized rooms and a wealth of period features including exposed beams and beautiful fireplaces. On entering the property you will be struck by how spacious it is. The lounge is simply wonderful with beams over head and the focal point being the inglenook fireplace. One of the benefits of this home is the great ceiling heights which is rare in a property of this age. The formal dining room will be the envy of all your friends and is the perfect place to wine and dine in a quaint environment with a feature fireplace, yet more exposed beams and not forgetting the sash windows. The kitchen has been recently fitted with bespoke work tops, cupboards and beautifully finished off with a terra-cotta tiled flooring which completes the country cottage look. You have two great sized doubles bedrooms; one of which has the potential for an en-suite bathroom subject to planning permission.
The pretty garden is the perfect place to enjoy the summer months with a great patio area ideal for lazy lunches or evening drinks, the choice is yours. You also have parking and a double garage to the rear of the garden.
What the Owner says:
Although I was born in South London Biddenden has been my home since 1976, I love the rural community & many of its old ways, yet it is upmarket because of the high percentage of London commuters living in the area. Biddenden is my home town and my next house will be close by. I have known this house since I was a lad and always admired its naturally good looks & symmetry as an engineer it’s important to me that it stands straight even though it is over 400 years old. The front of the property is right in the hubbub of a medieval village yet the rear is an unknown secluded quiet recreation and relaxation place that modern homes cannot begin to provide. Internally it’s full of features, bags of room and very unusual 10ft oak beamed ceilings.
