“We saw the property mentioned in a newspaper about nine years ago and immediately went to look at it. We fell in love with the homestead and bought it virtually ‘on the spot’ and have thoroughly enjoyed developing the property and running the bed and breakfast and holiday let business for the past few years. It has been a delight to bring individual ideas to running a bed and breakfast, such as putting TV earphones in the bedrooms so other guests are not disturbed. Sadly, family commitments mean that we have to change direction but we hope that new owners will love the place as much as we have done. One of our great pleasures has been the gardens where we spend a great deal of time. Nonington is a pleasant and friendly village nestling in the middle of the Kent countryside with the local Royal Oak pub being a focal point. The village hall provides plenty of activities including badminton, table tennis and toddler groups and there are also bridlepaths and wonderful country walks around the village – you can even try one of the guided walks organised by members of the parish council. At the same time we are not far from Canterbury with its historic buildings, high-street stores and individual shops as well as excellent restaurants, theatres, schools and universities – and it is less than an hour to London from Canterbury West station to St. Pancras.”
