We used to live next door and this has always been our ‘dream home’ and we were eventually able topurchase it. We have thoroughly enjoyed living here for many years and bringing up our children in such a wonderful environment. Unfortunately, family circumstances mean we have to make a move. However, we have lived along this road for 25 years and will not be moving far away as we find it is an ideal spot. We have a garden centre as well as the charming Butcher’s Arms micro-pub – reputed to be the first micro-pub in the country and the smallest free house in England. There are also plenty of places to walk nearby including the lovely Blean Woods National Nature Reserve with its five nature trails and an ancient woodland habitat. It has been a labour of love updating and extending the house and creating a variety of options in the grounds. The large wooden building outside affectionately known as the ‘The Lodge’ is just the place for barbecues on the decked terrace and occasional sleepovers as it even includes a log-burning stove, while the small stable block makes an ideal place for chickens, goats, miniature Shetland ponies or dog kennels. Alternatively, this could be converted into larger stables for horsey enthusiasts. Another building is our stunning gym and you could always put a hot tub in the summer house. There is an excellent ‘man cave’ as well as a large building designed as an office.
