Property description
The east wing of Kinnersley Manor internally retains the original external wall to the former internal courtyard. Its position is idyllic with the security of neighbours on either side, yet with unrivalled views over fields and countryside and beyond.
Whilst retaining many features dating between the 15th and 18th centuries, the property has rightfully earned its Grade II listing and also providing a blank canvas to apply your own internal fittings, such as modern style bathrooms, kitchen, decoration and floor covering.
When you walk into the property you really do sense a feeling of space - over 3800 square feet. There is a superb dining hall with feature fireplace and high ceilings and a spacious lounge, also with a feature fireplace. However, one of the main features of this property is the excellent balustraded staircase and galleried landing which for many years has been used as a library.
There is enough space on the first and second floor for 5/6 bedrooms, which is big enough to house a large family. The first floor could be ideal for the main family, with the second floor being big enough for a dependant relative, teenager suite, nanny or even, if desired, used for lodgers to provide a healthy income, the choice is yours!
Outside the gardens are private, mature, established and south facing, providing a very pleasant environment most months of the year. if you need parking for cars or additional vehicles there is a large double garage as well as a driveway.
What the Owner says:
Kinnersley Manor's roots go back to Saxon times but the first reliable records date from 1332. It was first described as "The Manor House" in documents dated 1563. This property is one of two surviving wings of the mansion of 1579 by John More and was refronted and refenestrated in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The property has been owned by the same family since February 1963 and have enjoyed over 50 years of fantastic uninterrupted occupation.
The property is within easy driving distance of Reigate, Redhill, Horley and further afield to Gatwick and M25 motorway.
