Golspie is an attractive town with a small harbour and fine beaches in a beautiful area of the Highlands. The area is steeped in history with the Sutherland Estate being one of the largest in Scotland with its centre at Dunrobin Castle. The original castle dates from the 13th century and in 1840 it was extensively remodelled by Sir Charles Barrie who designed the House of Commons in London. The area offers ample opportunity for recreational activities to include: hill walking, mountaineering, fishing the local rivers and lochs, water sports on the Moray Firth, a number of excellent golf courses and the popular Highland Wildcat mountain biking trials. Golspie has a good range of facilities with a variety of shops, bank and post office, primary and secondary schools, railway station, regular bus service to Inverness and Wick and good road connections via the A9. It also benefits from having an updated swimming pool and health club, a cottage hospital, doctors surgery, dentist and optician. Inverness the capital of the Highlands is approximately 50 miles distant by road and offers shopping centre with theatre, cinema and social facilities. Inverness Airport is approximately 65 miles distant and offers worldwide connections.
Directions
From Inverness go North on the A9 crossing the Kessock, Cromarty and Dornoch Bridges. When entering Golspie the property is located on the right hand side on Station Road shortly after the station.
