History

Ingram House was built, circa 1720, as the dower house for Lady Elizabeth Frankland-Russell, grand-daughter of Oliver Cromwell and wife of the second Baronet, Sir Thomas Frankland of the nearby Thirkleby Park Estate. It was extended in the 1860's providing the ample living accommodation found today.
