Property description
A five bedroom period barn conversion tucked away on the edge of the village of Farmborough, not far from Priston. This beautifully presented attached property has accommodation over three floors comprising the following: sitting room, kitchen/breakfast room, dining room, utility room, master suite with dressing room and en-suite, family bathroom, gardens, garage and parking. The Hay Barn is a five bedroom barn conversion with generous rooms built over three stories. The current owners, who bought the property eight years ago, describe it as the perfect home to raise a family and will take with them many happy memories of their children enjoying the property and the surrounding land.It is in a very rural position, bordered by fields. To get to the house, you have to drive down a farm track, so it is set well back from the main road, says Suzannah, It is so quiet and peaceful here you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere, but you can reach Bath by car in 15 minutes or so. It is the best of both worlds. Although we are very close to Bath itself, the local area has everything you would need. There are pubs and parks for the children to play in, schools and a doctors' and just down the road is a world class hotel and restaurant. We often spend an evening down there with friends, she continues.I think we will miss the peace and quiet the most. Sitting in the garden, you can feel as if you are in the south of France. You can come home from work and escape from everything it is a stress free environment, says Rob, It is a very special home and we will have a hard time finding something equally as special. When we moved into the barn conversion eight years ago, it was pretty much perfect. However, we recently added a new bathroom and carpeted the lounge stairs and landings, says Suzannah, I think my favourite room would have to be the kitchen although we dont do much cooking. The children, Rob, the three dogs and I will all gather in here after our days at school or work and spend time together; it is the hub of the house. The children have really enjoyed growing up here, says Rob, Although our garden is a manageable size, the children were able to go and play football and hide and seek in the surrounding fields, We have enjoyed many Christmases and birthday celebrations, he adds, There is so much land around us you could have massive parties if you wanted to. I know one of our neighbours hosted a wedding recently. The garden is low maintenance but beautiful. You can step out of the kitchen onto the patio and through the rose archway is a hot tub; the perfect place to relax in the evenings, Suzannah continues. The current owners will miss the rural location of the property and aim to stay within the area when they move on.
