Property description
Set in stunning acreage encompassing the main house, annexe, a cottage, substantial stables, orchard and much more, this property is a gem on the edge of South Downs National Park. In this heart of West Sussex, Shurlands is ideally placed for travel to the City or the coast in the fabulous village community of Wisborough Green with local produce stores and decent pubs. It’s also of course only a short drive to Billingshurst - with its mainline station offering services to Victoria in just over an hour, leisure centre and shopping facilities.
Wisteria sneaks around the front of the traditional main house and it’s immediately obvious that words aren’t really going to do justice what lies beyond
The entrance hall opens into a wonderful family home - there are five bedrooms, three reception rooms and bathrooms, conservatory and utility space. On each of the three floors there's character and charm at every turn, an original fireplace, an unexpected staircase, a delightful roof terrace with views over that spectacular land…
Leading away from the main house there's a lane leading to an absolutely delightful and self contained two bedroom cottage. Further from here you find the courtyard stables, leading out into paddocks and field beyond with an additional main entrance/exit. The annexe to the main house is a large open plan ground floor and additional rooms with bathroom and kitchen facilities.
What the Owner says:
We have loved Shurlands! and we think that’s evident, you can feel that it’s been a happy family home, a place to explore and to nurturer.
You couldn't really ask for more than we have here with the gardens, riding, walks
The location has been spot on for us too, it’s a hour’s drive to Heathrow or Gatwick, half an hour to decent shopping in Guildford and Horsham, and Wisborough Green itself is just lovely. Cricket through the summer, great pubs and so much to be involved in.
