We have lived at Orchard Cottage, Winterbourne Steepleton for 8 years. We have loved being in this quiet and peaceful hamlet surrounded by the rolling hills, wildlife and many scenic walks.The house is on 3 floors so there is plenty of room and you never get on top of one another. The big kitchen dining area has been perfect for family meals and gatherings especially at Xmas time. The house is warm and cosy and the wood burning stove in the sitting room adds extra warmth on chilly winter evenings. The large south facing garden has mainly evergreen shrubs so it is very easy to maintain. We have enjoyed working in the garden and sitting outside for meals on warmer days. It is a very safe village and there have been no burglaries or disturbances since we have lived here.The neighbours are very friendly and the village of Martinstown provides a great pub, village stores and post office plus many classes and a cricket club.The Jurassic Coast is 10 minutes drive away and a few miles driving takes us to Weymouth Harbour, Dorchester, Bridport and Lyme Regis.
