Property description
Stone Rock Close is a small enclave of delightful modern high-quality detached houses built by the well-respected property developers, St .Crispins. Number One is spread over three floors and makes an ideal family home and includes unusual features such as a stunning window that is nearly the height of the house. The two good-sized rooms and a large bathroom on the top floor provide an excellent area for older
children to enjoy their own space. At the same time the large light and bright lounge, with its magnificent beamed and vaulted ceiling and French doors to the terrace and double doors to the elegant dining
room, provides a wonderful place for a party.
The family is bound to congregate in the well-proportioned modern kitchen/breakfast room with its range cooker, built-in microwave and other integrated appliances, while the large adjacent utility room with
its doors to the double-garage and garden offers plenty of space for dog beds and muddy boots. With a family bathroom and three more double bedrooms, including the master with an en suite bathroom, there is
plenty of room for the family and guests, while the easy-to-maintain sheltered garden is just the place to entertain friends to a barbecue in the summer or relax in the sunshine. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the lane and a parade of local shops nearby, while Sturry village and the main line station is only 0.7
miles away. The village still retains its individuality with its quaint high street, historic church and river Stour. It also has a pharmacy, post office, library, hairdresser, two supermarkets, various eateries and pubs as well as a doctor’s surgery, veterinary practice and both private and state schools.
What the Owner says:
We moved into the house about seven years ago, when it was first built and it has been a wonderful family home. My children really enjoyed living here but they have now ‘flown the coop’ and it is a little large for me, so Iam hoping that another family will be able to get as much pleasure from it as we have. I really enjoy the peace and quiet and love sitting in the garden during the summer. At the same time there are plenty of things to do around us. For those who enjoy country pursuits, we are within walking distance of the Fordwich and Westbere lakes for sailing, fishing and hiking and are not far from the Crab and Winkle cycle route. Historic Fordwich – the smallest town in the country – is nearby and here you can have a drink or a meal in one of the lovely country pubs. At the same time, we are only about four miles from Canterbury, with its ancient buildings, wide range of high-street-shops, pubs and restaurants as well as universities and theatres. For real foodies, the Kathton House Restaurant in Sturry High Street is rated the top restaurant in the Canterbury area by Trip Advisor and, for anyone who needs to commute to London, the station is less than a mile away.
