My house is in a great location, perfect for commuting to London as Westenhanger railway station is just a short walk away, where you can get the fast train to London from Ashford, giving you a total journey time of just under one hour. You can also get a bus into Hythe or Ashford. Lympne is a lovely village with a post office/local store, village hall and pub, all within walking distance, which is very practical.
If you enjoy going for country walks, then you are going to be spoilt for choice as we are surrounded by miles of countryside. I would definitely recommend heading down to the Royal Military Canal and the seafront in Hythe. Hythe also has a great High Street with many shops and there are also many supermarkets to choose from.
