Property description

This veritable Tardis of a beautifully constructed and maintained detached property in Cliff Road is a real stunner. Like a number of houses built along the clifftops of Hythe and Sandgate, from the front it gives the initial impression of being a luxurious bungalow but, once through the entrance, this spacious property stretches into the distance.

With four reception rooms and a large kitchen/breakfast room on the ground floor and five good-sized double bedrooms and utility on the lower floor you can begin to appreciate the facilities available.

Built in 2002 and nestling in delightfully landscaped gardens, with an attractive mix of trees, shrubs and rockeries, this modern, high-quality home has been designed with both family life and entertaining in mind. Surrounding half of the upper floor is a magnificent wrap-around balcony that you can access from the kitchen and the lounge. The south-facing area is large enough to hold a party and is where you can enjoy al fresco dining for much of the year as it includes a retractable awning, heaters and lighting as well as views across the rooftops of Hythe to the sea.

Everyone will want to congregate in the bespoke modern kitchen/ breakfast room with its island and breakfast bar. For those who enjoy cooking there are two ovens, a steamer and a microwave as well as a hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer and you can directly access the dining room from the kitchen while your guests can go through the double doors from the hall. If you work from home there is a very useful study next door and, at the front of the house, you will find a large and relaxing sitting room and an elegant lounge with a fireplace and a balustrade study area.

On the lower floor, three of the five double bedrooms have doors out into the garden and lower terrace, including the second bedroom with its en suite bathroom, a second en suite bedroom that opens onto a private courtyard area and the superb first bedroom that has both an en suite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe.

What the Owner says:

We bought this house from new and have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. From our master bedroom we can enjoy sitting on a private terrace or on the covered decked area drinking or morning coffee or having a nightcap, listening to the water trickling into the fishpond. We recently installed the new kitchen and have loved hosting dinners and barbecues on the decked balcony.
It is very peaceful, quiet and secluded, yet we are only a few minutes from Hythe’s historic town centre with its array of individual shops and restaurants as well as Waitrose and Sainsbury’s and the unique miniature Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway. We are not far from the beach and the Imperial Hotel with its golf course, gym and other facilities as well as the Military Canal for walks along the towpath. Enthusiastic golfers can enjoy their sport at the nearby Henry Cotton designed golf course at Sene Valley. For rail commuters, the high-speed train to London from Folkestone is just under an hour or you could take a twenty-minute drive to Ashford International, where it is only thirty-six minutes to St. Pancras. Sandling station is only a short distance and there are regular bus services to Folkestone with its excellent secondary schools, high-street stores and access to the Continent.
