Within the village of Martin, and a short walk from the cottage is a church, village hall, from which a local shop is run six days a week, and a village club. The neighbouring village of Damerham offers an excellent public house, garage and well regarded village school. The nearby Chalke Valley also offers an abundance of excellent pubs and restaurants, including the King John in Tollard Royal and The Museum in Farnham.
The cottage is conveniently located approximately 9 miles South West from the Cathedral City of Salisbury with its excellent shopping and recreational facilities. There is also a wide selection of schools in the area including, Forres Sandle Manor, Sandroyd, Chafyn Grove, The Cathedral School, Godolphin Girls School as well Bishop Wordsworth's and South Wilts Grammar Schools. Other excellent schools nearby include St. Mary's Shaftesbury, Dauntsey's and Bryanston.
Communication in the area are excellent. Salisbury Station offers a direct train service to London Waterloo (90 minutes) or Southampton Parkway (66 minutes) and the A303 provides access to the south west and to London via the M3 making this an ideally positioned home to commute from.
