What the Owner says:
“ “We fell in love with the house and its surroundings when we first saw it some 10 years ago. The house was only about two years old and the grounds were a blank canvas so we decided to create this wonderful outdoor haven for wildlife. We will be sad to leave, but family and work commitments are taking us to another part of the country. Because the house is so spacious it is a place for entertaining and we love cooking and chatting to friends and family in our kitchen/breakfast room. Over the years we have enjoyed keeping pigs, sheep and chickens as well as bees that delight in the blossom, flowers and the soft fruits in our vegetable garden. On a warm evening we can sit in the garden, admiring the views across the valley, listening to the sounds of a variety of birds from owls to linnets and sparrow hawks to buzzards, attracted to our large pond and tranquil environment. However, we are not isolated as buses stop 100 yards away with regular services to Folkestone, Dover and Canterbury and there are wonderful country walks in a variety of directions. Alkham is a friendly village with a cricket club and a hall offering a variety of activities plus fabulous restaurant, The Marquis, specialising in locally-sourced produce. Hawkinge is nearby with its shops and amenities.“
