Property description
This home features the charm and character of properties from years gone by, coupled with space and flexibility. Also finished in a modern style and arranged over four floors with stunning sea views.
The Bayle is a unique location. Tucked away, quiet, yet right in the middle of the town and just around the corner from Folkestone’s creative quarter. Here you’ll find an eclectic mix of arts and crafts shops scattered either side of cobbled streets and the soon to be redeveloped harbour area nearby.
Overlooking a pleasant square the house has a layout like the traditional Georgian townhouses of the early 19th century with the lounge on the first floor to take full advantage of the view across the square.
Sash windows, cornicing and cast iron fireplaces add to the seductiveness that period properties like this have.
The kitchen area is a wonderful entertaining space. There’s plenty of work surface space and room for various white goods along with space for table and chairs. Upon entering the room it’s easy to envisage Sunday roasts, dinner parties or whatever else takes your fancy.
Please refer to the footnote regarding the services and appliances. What the Owner says:
I’ve owned this house for over 22 years having lived here for the first 20 of those years. The Bayle has a nice ”village community” even though it’s in the middle of the town. There’s a nice pub, school, church and park nearby. This was one of the reasons I was first attracted to the property.
I like older properties with character and over time various improvements have been made and it now has a modern finish inside. Now I’m looking to move on to new projects with my life hence the sale.
