We moved here in 1978 to bring up our 4 children and it has been a great family home.  The convenience of the location was superb as we could walk them to school, or to the park just around the corner.  As they grew up the location meant that they could be independent and walk to their secondary school, St Bedes, on their own. Having the town close by means that we can leave the car at home and now we have a residents' parking scheme, it has greatly eased parking in the road.  We currently have two parking permits, which can be obtained from the local Council.  The location of the house is fantastic for commuters, as the station and bus station are close by and the airport is under a 20 minute drive away.
